I’m trying to figure out what to do with lighting for my tanks. It’s a 3’x 3’ footprint, 20” to top of the sand bed. My original plan was to switch over 4 ai prime hd lights I bought used over to luxdium led pucks. For now I’ve been just been running 2 of them with the oem pucks in them. The other 2 lights I had issues setting them up and set them aside. One of the ones that I’m currently running is having issues with the leds in that the light has a green tint. At first I thought I had an algae break out on one side of the tank then looked closer and realized it was the light. So not sure if it’s a led that is starting to go bad or the circuit board. So I started to question my original plan.

I like the idea of being able to adjust the spectrum to my liking along with ramping up and down and the fact I’ve already invested in the primes which brings me back to sticking with my plan.

I’ve also been thinking about going with either quanta or orphek bars. I like the idea of the dimming ability of the orpheks but have heard mix reviews about them. The quanta helix look like nice lights but I wish they would ramp up and down. I really like sitting in the living room at night and watching the light come down on the tank and seeing activity change in the tank.

I like the look of the 12k spectrum of the primes so whatever I do would like to stay close to that with whatever I choose.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks,
Scott

if you already bought 4 primes, I'd totally go with those. 4 of them should be plenty of power and you'll be happy with the controllability.
