I removed my sand today and did a small water change and a lot of detritus removal along with it. I also did a pretty major rescape since I had to move the rocks anyway to get some of the sand out. Pics coming soon.

Perfect. Didn't have time to take pictures today or do much with the tank at all but I'm going to look over everything and take some pictures tomorrow!

I finally decided to go with the ai Nero 5 pump for my flow upgrade and so far I'm loving it. It's much smaller than my 3rd gen koralia but also has a nice wide flow pattern and it's easy to set up and control! For now I have it on random mode for most of the day with some intermittent pulsing. I put it on the side in the top right, facing the overflow, and set my return to face the front right corner. So now I have a good circular flow pattern but no bulky gyre pumps.

Also my heater stopped working today. Luckily in the off position, and this is Florida so it only dropped to 74, but I'm not sure exactly when it happened, maybe later yesterday. No corals really seem to be effected at all. And I have a backup heater.

Ugh. I run redundant, dual, full sized heaters on a controller. I refuse to let a heater burn me.

They also sent this Monti as a freebie. The first day it looked moslty purple with green polyps but now I see blue on the base as well as some orange polyps, so looks like a rainbow Monti to me. Very nice for a freebie! This picture was taken the first day I got it but it looks much better now!

I need to start making a chart showing what a feed, the date, and how much food I use and the phosphate reading for the day. That way I can see how long it takes for the food to break down into phosphate. And which foods contribute most to it.

I have meant to come and say hi over here to wish you some happy tanking in such a great Aquarium. I am just now ready for coral as I have taken it slow :p
Thanks! Good idea, hopefully your build will go a little smoother than mine. Lol.
