I forgot to mention, I also had a mishap with my one of my new acans today. I noticed an aiptasia on it so I took it out to remove it and in the process accidentally broke the very small rock it was on in half, also breaking the coral's skeleton. :( :( :( I really hope it will recover from this, the tissue was still in one intact piece but the skeleton underneath definitely broke a bit. In my experience this can go either way for the coral. I'm pretty bummed, I knew this was a risk when I was trying to take it off the plug but wanted to try anyway despite not having the best tools for the job. I hope I don't make this mistake again. :/

Crossing my fingers. This happened to me with an Alveopora recently. Luckily they ended up fine.

A few pictures from the last few days

Meteor shower making a strong comeback

Monet's madness Cyphastrea also seems to be recovering but too soon to tell for sure. There was a point where I could only faintly see 4 green polyps and this is a clear improvement but still looks rough 20190218_164401.jpg 20190218_164422.jpg 20190218_164437.jpg 20190218_164457.jpg 20190218_164628.jpg 20190218_164708.jpg 20190213_140803.jpg 20190213_140745.jpg
Also glad to report that the Acan I mentioned a few posts ago seems fine now. 20190213_140740.jpg 20190213_140735.jpg 20190213_140729.jpg 20190218_164557.jpg

Finally, that brings up to today.
I added my first 2 corals on Sunday and they're doing great so far.
A green chalice with orange spots.
And a green torch with yellow tentacles under blue lights.

Here's one of the TBS rocks I put in the display.

And the 2nd one with the purple sponges.

I've since moved them to a different spot, I just wanted to watch them for a day to make sure I wasn't introducing any gorilla crabs.

And finally a FTS

Still dialing in my skimmer, and adjusting the flow patterns. Hoping to get a lot more corals in the next few weeks.

Great thread - love all of the photos! Just started reading, so excited to see how the live rock and tank develop...

Did a short revive dip on the rainbow Monti because it doesn't seem to be doing well and has some algae growing on it.
Here's some pics of the new additions.
Still trying to find a good spot for the heliofungia, the skeleton is so light it keeps blowing around.

Did a full round of tests today
Nitrate: 0
Phosphate: 0.18
Calcium: 450
Alkalinity: 10.3
Magnesium: 1350.

Also cleaned the glass and glued some corals that kept falling over onto disks.
My jackolantern lepto seems to want to die no matter where I put it.
Softies are all doing great though.

Definitely, I have been following her and checking her site occasionally for like 1 year+ but this was my first order from her. I pretty much just told her my budget and asked her to pick ricordias for me and I love what she chose. :) I wish I could get 3 more of these packs. Her 80 is an inspiration!
