Ok Apex Controller Nerds, here's a couple of questions for you:

First, can an old school legacy Apex Junior operate in the current Fusion ecosystem?

Second, will the AC 4 plug bar work through an old Airport Express through the 2.4ghz channel in order to make question #1 doable?

Assuming I can make all this work, what would be the UI?

In the old days Fusion was accessed through a web address. Is this still the case?

TIA

The legacy apex junior you mention the one with the 4 plugs built in?

If so then yes it works fine on current fusion ecosystem. I am running one currently on my mixing station and registers and operates fine on my app along with my two A2 Pros.
The only Con for me is having to run ethernet directly to the Jr.

Not sure about the second question though. I have a EB4 hooked to one of the A2s and it works fine.

My 4 plug outlet is not the EB4. It's the AC outlet labeled Apex Jr.

looks like this? this is what i have and works fine on the current fusion app

What is an airport express?

Now I do not know the limitations on the jr. compared to the newer stuff. number of modules that can be run etc.

Mine is just running my mixing station and eventually my RO
pm1 and pm2 modules and fmm, may also hook up my dos to it for the AWC i plan on doing since its in the basement.

do you have a display? I was able to configure and connect everything using the display and ad to my fusion to now program and control

Gotcha.

Im my case, I only would like to get the pH and heater control stuff up and running.

Here's another one for you: through Fusion are you able to monitor real time power consumption with your mixing station set-up?

It's been so long since I've used this stuff and I can't recall the Fusion particulars: can the temp probe be biased in order get the most accurate reading (such as a feature with an Inkbird)?

Yes, have the display. But it's my understanding that these Classic Apex devices can only be updated through a LAN port. Apple quit LAN ports a long time ago. Hence the need to fire up the Dell.

Temp / heater is onboard and is easy, I believe to ad PH is a PM1 module.

There is only 1 temp probe on the main JR. You can ad one onto the PM1 also. So 2 reading. I am using two probes, one in my mixed salt bin and with second probe I am reading ambient air temp in my basement. mostly for ***** and giggles.

Its nice to be able to turn on the heater and mixing pump from the house while knowing its 45* in the basement and i don't have to go out in the rain and cold to start everything up the night before a water change.

Hmmm... mine is wired to my internet router, not directly to a computer. once you have ethernet connected and internet logged in you can update. no need for a computer at all.

no real time power monitoring that I know of on the jr's outlets

I belive you would need to ad an extra power bar like an eb4, eb8 or eb832.

I took the eb4 from this jr and put it on my a2 pro and I can monitor power useage off the whole bar, not individual sockets.

to monitor individual sockets you need an eb832.

Now I have only had these apex's for about 8 months, still learning them and may be giving incorrect info. If so I appoligive but I am refering to my app and trying to double check everything I am saying.

Cool.

I am shocked, but I may have resurrected this old Apex.

Firmware update check
Ancient Airport Express bridge - working
Logged into Apex Fusion check

Now, I just need a pH probe ;-)
