Deep Reset, Reviving my 80 gallon lowboy.

Hooked the 5 micron sock back up to the overflows and cleaned the glass today. I did have a solid hazy film that started to coat it. Not sure if thats good or bad. I'm going to go back over the floor and sand bed before I remove sock tomorrow morning.
Things are looking lovely today and sock already has the water column crystal clear.

Some data tracking of major params since the the tear down/ rip clean.
Can see the major spike since last Mondays water change. I've been dealing with low Ph for months. Not sure what else I can do but ride it out and stay on top of things and hope it corrects itself. Before the razor blade fiasco my Ph ran solid from 8.1 at night to 8.35ish during the day.
What im most excited about is I am seeing definite movement in the mag department. My mag has not been consistently below 1350 in a long time. In fact it's only crept back up to around 1460 range after water changes. This is exactly what I was after. It's telling me the metal toxicity situation is at least coming back down to safe levels hopefully if anything.
I haven't dose any cal since water change I'm not sure what to think about it. I have been cleaning surfaces and did throw a bunch of dead corals in a high flow area and maybe that's why I'm getting the wonky usage? Idk
I am gradually allowing my ALK to drift back down to 8.5 so I can lock it in.

Tanks really starting to come back to life. Total 360 from last week. Fish are happy and swimming around like crazy. Both tangs are starting to pick at some of the nasties. Happy to see a conch and a few nassarius snails, baby trochus popping back up.
Just feels happy to be in fish room again:D

Hey all hope all is well. Tank is looking lovely and wanted to do a quick update on a cpl things.
First some stats and a major oopsie as well a declaration of war on PH.
I went back through on Monday and cleaned the floor and corners up real good but didn't notice I knocked a fresh air intake line off one of my skimmers when I was hooking up the 5 micron on the overflows. Ph ran all the way down to 7.69 before I noticed.

Decided to declare war on PH and started playing with sealing the fish room up and opening the windows at night as well as during the day and seeing immediate improvement.

Started dosing mag! And believe I figured out why my calcium was fluctuating. I think my cal side of dos was gravity dripping somehow. I pulled the line out of the sump. Cal creeped all the way up to 476 yesterday but got it back down to 450 today. Had to be it. I'm looking for 350 cal.
Alk is slowly creeping back down as planned.
Right now I'm dosing red sea mag because I had it but I'm going to order 2 part mag and start diy mixing and dosing when red sea mag runs out.
Looking to eventually lock in 1350 mag.
Here's how things look today.

Full disclosure I'm not testing for anything else atm. All my reagents and kits are outdated.
I really should be testing for phosphates right now and do know better and plan on getting a new kit soon.

I've taken a ton of pix and really need to pick one phone to work from. I like the old S9 pix in regular mode because it takes most true to life photos as far as color as well as motion photos that can easily be converted to gifs.
For nostalgic purposes and because it fits here with current plans and why I'm changing things up. This is a much better representation of what I was dealing with right before the crash during last Xmas Christmas shroom bowl sale lol. Condos stacked on condos, shrooms commiting cannibalism, you name it I had it going on and then some. Crazy thing is this was only 16 months of growth from original transfer date.

Anyway I have major changes planned for this tank moving forward. Soon as I'm comfortable that I have nasties under control. I plan on taking all my rock from the end of the tank and building a torch garden in the middle. Monster shrooms around torch garden with sticks on rock work up top. Should also give me a lot more real estate for the shrooms that dont love lamp.
I'm not done with shroom garden. My plan for shrooms moving forward is grow only the best. Grow mother beasts and rotate them out and keep babies around to repeat the process. As you can see too much of a good thing happens super quickly with shrooms.

I've been super busy since the rip clean. Plan is to get all the plastic shroom condos and magnetic racks out of my system and go with more natural look.
I have all kinds of boogers popping up on the tile now. I organized and rearranged the tile and put all the shrooms in there own spots, babies together with moms. Plan on getting rid of a majority of the discs. So far I have a crazy disco side going. Still need to move an electus over and cut the kmaintl shrooms out of the last bowl.

Not a whole lot to report on today other than my war on PH is making great progress.

You can see where I opened fish room door to check on the tank this morning. All sealed back up and going to try and stay out of the room as much as I can.
What's crazy is I left the window open until it reached 105 yesterday. Fish room never got above 85 degrees and water temps stayed under 77F.
I left fish room sealed with window open all night last night;)

Kmaintl Jawbreakers are starting to get some nasty color on them. Getting some purps on my green machine poletti mutant. Going to have a dope disco corner here soon. All I need is one of those bubbly JB's from @Lost in the Sauce:D

Was messing around with different filter lens configurations taking pix and wanted to post:D Got some super nasty true to life colors on some of the shrooms as well as disco row is starting to pop pretty crazy.
Need m0ar torches, stix anx flowey things;)

Took a bunch of pix during ramp up this morning and tried to get some pix of the rocks using different filters when peak hours started. So far so good. I'm surprised the rocks are holding up. I thought for sure I was up for a serious battle after I found my top off water and di cans full of sludge. I'll take it.

Finally got out to the lfs yesterday. Snagged a test kit, cpl mexican turbos and some dragons tongue. Dragons tongue was an impulse buy lol. I have nothing set up and no where to put it so I rigged a makeshift shroom condo holder in my overflow box for now. Plan is to set up fuge box with light somewhere in the sump jist need to find where mama put all my things.
Tank is looking lovely. That gmk I transplanted to the tile is started to come to life, even found a snail up the cleaning feet so that was awesome to see.
Found a frag plug with a cpl predator zoas on it and need to transplant them today.
Maybe I'll get to cleaning the rest of my frag plugs and cutting the kmaintl out of last shroom bowl this weekend;)

Since the gmk tile transplant seems to have to worked.

I decided to pull the predator zoa plug out and do the same thing. Used a disc that has been sitting in a shroom bowl for years:)

Only 500 gmk left to go lol I want all of the nasty deep rooted plugs and rubble out of the display and in the sump so i better get on it this weekend. It's choking out and killing the corals that are near it for sure.

Ok my dudes and dudettes I really couldn't wait for this box to arrive.
I had a feeling something wierd was going on with both cal and mag readings. Ive been dosing mag and it hasn't showed much movement at all. I haven't been dosing cal whatsoever and it's kind of been all over the place.
Anyhow I got the trident calibrated and cal came down from 454 and mag went up from 1316. I'll have to bring a sample in to have things dbl checked but I think the recalibration lines up more with dosing.
Nitrates sitting around 5ppm
Still need to check phosphates as well as calibrate ph probe.

Got around to calibrating my dos pumps. Finding all kinds of boogers popping up on my tile. Found a cpl zoas plugs I don't even remember what they are but they should be fire.
Found the little clown fanning off my tile. He actually photo bombed me without realizing it when I was trying to get a pic this little booger. Fish are awesome lol
Had an underwater adventures collage pop up and thought it was fitting for this revival thread.

Snagged a few decent pix of JB corner.
Mama said why did I move that green splatter mushroom. I said I didn't mama. She said well when did you buy another one? I said I didn't mama that's the orange JB that turned green that I had in the shroom condo. Lol not the same kind if electus green it more of a darker toxic green. Kind of hard of to believe it used to look like the rest of the JB's though. The kmaintl JB are alot brighter than the new school orange JB with red on it but are starting to get some nice toasty red coming in on them. Totally different all the way around though.

Since I decided to cut all the heads back on the big torch I have a cpl new heads starting to pop up on the original trunk:)
The other big one is splitting and seeing vertical growth on all the stems.
