Deer Hunters.

Great to hear! I hope that you can get some pictures!
I went out today and saw 8 doe and one small buck, 4 pointer. I passed on a 125 class buck the other day. I would like to stay above 130-135.
I am in central Ohio and they just are not moving like I expected. For the last 3 days it has been extremely warm, over 70 degrees. This weekend its suppose to get cold again and I hope that it turns on the rut. At this point the deer are still grazing and there is very little chasing going on.
Bring on the pictures as soon as you get them!
Congrats!

Thank you. I hope congrats are in order though, i absolutly hate not finding a deer that i have shot. It happened once before but i was on the trail of the shot doe and i heard a pack of coyotes getting down on something bigtime.. im pretty sure it was my doe, regardless i never found that deer and i nearly quit hunting because of it, i felt bad. Since then i have been sure to make good shots and wait till they are very close to me with no obstructions, no trick shooting, ill only shoot standing up, things like that... I was buggin out to say the least.. I hit that grunter and was stomping my feet at a different buck out in the field and this ol boy came blazin outta the tree line i was on about 20 yards to my left, he went about 25 yards out of the timber into the open field looking to fight the buck he heard. I hit the grunt again cause he was just standing there looking around and he turned looked dead at me and put his head down as if to charge and i got scared but i just stood as still as possible. He turned broadside to me, yall know what happened then.
I hope i can find him. Say one for me rev:angel:

no pics

Kevin, hope you find him. My son got a nice muley at the end of October this year. I'm having trouble posting my pics. Says my file is too large but I don't know how to resize to fit in the threads parameters.

ok here goes. the first pic is oct 07. my son connor won a private ranch deer tag at a SFW banquet. he was 12 and after he got him i told him that this was probably a deer of a lifetime so dont expect to get anything this big for quite awhile. the second pic is oct 08 from a public land tag he drew. the taxidermist said it probably will score around 190. he got both with a rifle. the little terd has two trophies while i struggle to draw a tag. i wouldn't trade it for the world though.

Thats awesome! Its great to see the young'en enjoying what the wild has to offer. Those are both nice buck!!

thanks, i couldn't be prouder. he is an excellent shot, both with a rifle and bow. i told him as soon as he can draw 40 or more pounds we will go elk hunting. i drew elk muzzle loader this year, but no deer. the season is only 5 days and elk are so nomadic it is hard to get into them. i prefer bow because the season is a month long and offers more time in the woods. Good luck to you.

That is awesome!!!

No i did not find the deer. My guess is i put a horrible shot on him. blood dried up and no deer after 12 hours of searching.
I sat in the stand this afternoon and had one nice lookin 8 point buck runnin a small doe but i did not attempt to take him, was getting late and i did not have a comfortable shot. Surly did not want a repeat.
