Excuse these horrible photos lol
I turned off all the lights to help reduce stress.
A firefish! I'm calling him Frederick

A new feather duster! Big one this time! Still acclimating...

Nice! I love my firefish! One time my firefish jumped through my lid and hit me in the face... guess he was happy to see me? Lol.

Not a great day, the firefish has passed on :( Details are in the linked thread. I still have yet to treat the worms on the hammer coral, I think I'll finally do that tomorrow. I just need to find the mostly reliable dipping procedure.

Here's some pics form around the reef today.
Here's those demon worms :(

Sure, they make a hole inside coral skeletons (typically and have two tendrils that they stick out to filter feed. In small numbers they are relatively harmless but in large numbers they can cause flesh ressesion and eventually kill the coral. They are extremely resistant to dipping, the only dip that seems to work is ivermectin, which is typically a livestock de-wormer.

Thanks!

I've been slacking on the updates so here's some things I've been doing. I changed the rocks a little and created a portal through the tank to make viewing from the side more interesting.

I'm rehoming this little terror, he's been harassing my feather dusters and eating their tubes for a long time but ive just chocked it up to "pruning" since he's only removed small parts of their tubes that they then repair. Then when I added the big feather duster, he went to town he destroyed it's crown!!!! Hopefully it can recover quickly. I'm also pretty sure this is not actually a blue leg hermit. His claws have small white spots on them and his legs are mostly been with some white streaks. Sadly he'll be taking his cool shell with him. 20250309_171219.jpg
Old photo of the hermit for reference, definitely not a blue leg!

Here's what's left of the feather dusters crown. You might notice the real blue leg sitting on top of him but I haven't seen him mess with it at all.

Finally, I think my Scarlett hermit has died, I haven't seen him all month :(
