Deltec AP 902 Skimmer question

I'm planning on buying a Deltec AP 902 Protein skimmer, I currently use a mag 12 as a return pump, so have alot of water draining back to my sump. Can a Deltec AP 902 handle that much water, or do I need to use a smaller feeder pump, like a 900 gph pump?

Hi there,

I have 2 902's and love them. A mag 12 may be a little more than you need without a bal valve. I am using the larger ehiem. 1262 or something like that and just put a ball valve on it. It will actually be easier to dial in with the valve anyway. You can alwys throttle back but not so much the other way. I know I had a mag 9 on mine long ago and it was almost perfect so i imagine you'll have to throttle the 1200 back a bit. If you ever decide to get a new pump for it go with th eheim though.
