Official Entry: I'm relatively new to all this, so the whole description was very informative to me. I like the clean design and I'm going to be reading up on the footplate design because that sounds interesting to me.

I love the low profile of the unit, it would fit perfectly in a cube sump. The variable DC is huge for me as well, since I’ve been concerned I might underpower for my future needs. I can scale it up as needed.

So this is literally the first protein skimmer I had actually done research on in over 7 years! I had no idea how far technology had come since then!
The thing that I find cool is the more customizable options. The skimmer that I have (over 7 years old) is meant for up to a 75 gallon tank and has 1 control option available: a very hard to turn knob that controls the water level.
I find it interesting that they are making equipment DC rather than AC now for more control ability. I see that the 600 series runs in DC to allow controlability on the motor/pump for the unit. Knowing this, using a smart controller system, you can have the controller automatically adjust the skimmer pump depending on the water level in your sump. This is cool to me because I remember 7 years ago I had to play around with and fiddle with the pump valve as well as adjust the height the pump sat at in the water by using my Mom's tuperwear containers!

OFICIAL ENTEY: If I win it, I would love to try the 600i model, the easy maintenance and cleaning is what I like the most, besides being quite and energy saver. Good job @Deltec USA.
