Just added a devil frag coral and it was doing really well.
It started to lean over and the Little things retracted.

should I raise flow? (you can see wave pup top left)
Be patient?

Leather corals are the most temperamental and hardy corals out there. They will close for weeks just because they feel like it.
They like strong light and strong flow, but will do fine anywhere.
I’d say just give it some time for now and see if it adjusts.

Thanks there was a mushroom on it too.
it seems to be growing and hopefully, it spreads.

The colony I got the leather from was 6 years old so I'm hoping it grows big as well.

My lobophytums (devil and thick finger) grow at a good rate compared to other corals, but still what I would consider slow. It’s pretty much just constantly getting bigger.
Sinularia is definitely the fastest growing leather out there.

Devils hand leathers can take a long while to settle in! Mine like a lot of flow and mod light. I have a large devils hand (6-7” across) that took over 5 months to acclimate to my tank and start opening fully. Now it’s got all its polyps out every day and drops babies constantly.
they shed a layer of mucus a couple of times a month and when they are doing that they retract their polyps and look a little sad. I would say it’s probably getting enough flow with where it’s at now but make sure it’s enough flow to move detritus out of its cup, so it doesn’t collect and make the coral unhappy. Good luck!
