Hey knowledgeable people of the R2R universe. I recently got a Diamond Gobby and some hermit crabs to start my tank. All were added Wednesday, 10/30.
After a couple of days, I am actually catching the gobby picking up up moving the crabs and their shells to different locations in the tank. He is moving them, burying them and just over all redecorating with then. If they are a small enough size for him to pickup they are fair game.
What can I do about this? Should I be worried for my cleanup crew? The crabs are still alive as he is moving them. But i am concerned if burried under sand or other shells they might not be for long.
So far it's only the crabs, the snails are being left alone.

My Goby has also done this. I dont think you have much to worry about Crabs often dig in the sand.

This was awhile a go lol

Any ideas on what I should do with this guy? He is redecorating under the one piece of rocks cape that is the most unstable. He sleeps under my island and has stuffed empty shells and hermit crabs under it. I am afraid it's going to fall over now

It's just part of the trade off - clean sand bed but lots of sand moving around. They will dig under all your rocks, move things around - like crabs. It's worth it for keep your sandbed clean IMHO. I also have a Sleeper Goby - now those guys really move sand around into large piles - i just use a turkey baster to move it back 1x a week or so.

When mine was new he moved a lot of stuff, dug multiple caves but once he decided on one he settled down. The only hermit crab or snail that he takes to the other side of the tank and spits out are the ones that enter his cave.
