So someone posted about a Goby disappearing. I assured them that this was common. The same day my Diamond disappeared. It's two weeks now . Its obviously dead and being eaten by bristle worms. WOW

Sorry to hear that. How long have you had the guy. Mine sometimes disappears and is sitting in a burrow under the rocks.

It was about 5.5 inches grew about 2 since I had it. Less or close to a year I was shocked

Mine went missing after I was moving some rocks and if it didn't get buried in the sand I have know idea where it got off to? It's been too long for it to hve been hiding.
Do you guys worry about it digging enough to the point where a rock falls on it? I have some small rocks that it really dug deep under and was curios if I should worry about digging the rocks deeper in the sand bed. Most of the rocks are at least an inch deep in sand other than where he dug down lol.

Only the goby knows really?
I have had rocks move and pin tangs when i used to pile rocks loosely. For tunneling fish I have never worried much about cave ins but I did have a nice goby go missing.

Well I gave up but today I did a major clean on my 90. After my Diamond Goby was missing for 2 and a half weeks there it was. Do they molt? Its normal Burrow was full of bristle worms, and I assumed they were eating it. Now all the worms are gone and its back I cant even express surprise any more

Maybe bristle worms are the larval stage Diamond goby?
Now I got to clean my fish tank and see if it's been hiding too.
They can be little pranksters. I know mine has two burrows in a small tank that he rotates between so there is a chance he has another and if your sand is matured enough he might not even need supplementary feedings as well. Glad you found him. How large are the bristleworms? If they are big it might be best to remove them lol
When I set my tank up, I put the rockwork in first so that it sits directly on the glass. That way they can't fall. Everything built up from there is attached with reef epoxy and acrylic dowels. There are a couple rocks that are easy for me to move if needed. but they sit firmly on other rocks. I read somewhere in a BRS thing about placing the rocks first, and it made good sense to me, so I went with it.

Yes it did move but under a small canister filter that I have to clean about every three weeks. Some of the worms are over 4 inches there are probably over 300 of them its like the invasion of the zombies at feeding time
