I put a diamond goby in my tank to keep my sand white. He does an awesome job at that. I have noticed my zoas and clove polyps stay closed a lot now. I walked by the tank at the right time and saw him nipping at the polyps. Anyone ever herd of them doing that?

I've never heard of, nor seen diamond gobies pick at coral. I've seen them take frags ans small corals and move and drag them for their burrow. I've also seen them bury any corals on the sand.
