The one in my old tank was awesome but I rarely saw it during the day but when the lights turn back on in the morning the sand is crystal clear!!!:) so I'd say there more active at night and unless you have a small tank you probably won't see him as much but who knows every fish is different!!:)

I have the opposite experience, mine is always out during the day, sifting sand like a crazy person. At night it goes into one of its burrows and sleeps there. I love my diamond goby and enjoy watching it work. The down side to diamond gobies are they move sand and shells where ever they please, so have corals on the sand bed is hard, because they tend to cover them.

Aha thas what I mean by all fish have different personalities lol so it just matters on the fish:)

Mine was really shy at first but after a couple months he started coming out more often. Now he's always hanging out in front of his burrow.

Mine is Always Out!! Day and Night hes digging around in the Sand! He like to be the center of attention on our Tank.

one of the hardest working gobies there is lol. sometimes though it can go wacky and nuts! creating sand storms and covering up precious scolys!
