I think I have a diatom problem. Do lawnmower blennies eat diatoms? I had an ati test run and it’s showing silicon in the water. Somehow it is making it through my 5 stage spectrepure ro system. I attached some pics. My nitrates and phosphates are 0 so in thinking it’s the silicates.

Well...

It's stringy and that bubble got me thinking more "dinos" than diatoms..

However, a microscope image will get you in the right direction.

I'm having a similar issue and will have microscopic images tomorrow on my thread to get proper ids and a treatment plan afterwards...

The only reason I was thinking diatoms was because it says online diatoms release bubbles from photosynthesis. I’m going to keep researching. Thankyou for pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks to all. Sounds like everyone thinks they are Dino’s. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them?
