Did I waste my money on this Welso?

So I paid a pretty penny for this at the LFS. At the store they had it stuck wedged in a rock. Didn’t realize that was a bad place for it until later. After getting it home and acclimated I noticed some skeleton showing in the bottom right corner. Is the coral capable of healing from this? Or is it dying slowly? Is it a tear from the rock work at the LFS? It seems very puffy and inflated after 3 days in my tank on the sand bed .

I think I will be going somewhere else for corals from now on

Looks fine and healthy to me. Don't overthink it. If you like it, it's worth every penny. Just leave it alone and try not to mess with it too much.
