So I've been battling dinos, specifically Prorocentrum for months. dosing PO4/NO3, UV, Silicate, siphoning daily, etc did not work. I decided that it was either going to be the elegant corals method which is essentially a semi controlled algae bloom or dino-X. I know there's risks in using dino X, but I liked the fact that I could run the skimmer and UV during treatment. I chose Dino-X.

I did my first dose Friday night. after siphoning sand. Sand stayed clear white Saturday and by Sunday evening there was a light brown dusting on the sand. I siphoned the sand and re dosed as directions say every 2 days. We're at Tuesday now and the sand is sparkling white with no signs of dinos. I do still have a boatload of GHA. I cant really tell yet if the GHA is dying but my PO4 went from .05 to .10 in two days. I haven't measured yet today.

Two questions: One, does Dino-x kill GHA. The bottle says it takes longer than don's but kills other "nuisance" algae.

Two, does it kill bubble algae?

Three, should I go for the full 10 doses even though I see no signs of dinos?

Rarely does this work but use for 5-7 days with low or no light
