I did play around with the flow. The faster flow seems to work better than slow in my experience. The timing of dosing peroxide does appear to matter. I just kept dosing bacteria in the morning and killing a lot indiscriminately at night with the peroxide. I just needed to find one strain that can eventually outcompete the dinos.

I hope you find that strain and bottle it :)

Dog poops on floor…do I add nutrients to encourage other stuff to grow, do I turn the lights off so I don’t see it, do I add bacteria to it, do I zap it with uv light…personally I just remove the poop! Do the same in your aquarium with all nuisance algae…it’s that simple!

Dog or cat pees on the floor.
You should extract as much as you can, and then treat it with bacteria or enzymes that consume the remains

Then when dry, use a uv light to verify there is none left behind.

Might as well throw in some water glass (silicate dosing) @ 0.5ppm per day. It’s more commonly used for amphidinum but seemed to help overall. Your glass will look nasty tho.

Actually, I think that's one factor that helped me fight dinos. I just gave up cleaning the glass and let the slime algae take over for a week after dosing silicates. Once I cleaned up the glass after a week of that, no more dinos.

I had a similar experience. It does feel like diatoms (hopefully that’s what’s covering the glass) need to reach a certain number to outcompete the dinos. I dose some NO3/PO4 everyday too with silicate but OP has pretty high nutrients already.

I used it as part of my attack on Dinos, but I wish mine had been this clean XD.

I threw the absolute book at Dinos and honestly I overdid it. the cycle of photosynthetic pests is real. went from massive Dino outbreak to caulerpa gaining foothold again because of raised nutrients to now bubble algae. bubble algae is starting to fall back in line and seeing more Coraline regrowth finally. hopefully my utilitarian fish and crabs and snails can keep up with what is left after this.

I don’t bother identifying nuisance algae, I remove it, have organisms that consume it, and limit its food.

Just for reference…here is my aquarium about a year ago, close look reveals a mixture of nuisance algae including Dinos, I would guess? however daily maintenance kept rocks relatively clean until real estate became unavailable. That is all it really takes, it’s a lack of vigorous removal and maintenance that causes Dinos.
