LOL got your attention ? I have a sump full of bio balls from a tank that died . (friend gave me them)

I want to use them for my breeding setup. But i dont want them to kill any of my fish. Can i wash them with bleach ? Will that kill EVERYTHING ? I want to start with them from scratch. I was thinking of a HOT bleach soak ? And rinsing them after with a declorinator and drying in the sun.

Anyone want to comment ? I dont want to deal with anything that will make the breeders sick or kill them.

I would just soak them in RODI and Vinegar overnight.

And then dip them in chocolate....

jk about the last part

I dont know what happend to his tank 3 yrs ago. But i dont want any of my fish getting sick..... Can i use bleach on them ? I just dont want it to leach into my system if i do use it. Hoping someone will reply that's cleaned like this!

LOL about the chocolate i heard that might set the mood for the females tho !

I'd toss the balls and not even use them. They are more for fresh water.

Its not a reef tank. Its going to be a Breeding system. For about 5-6 pairs. So this will be the sole source of filtration. Im not using LR. If i had the Money id be using Kaldness K1 media. But being broke and having the "balls" im planning on using them!

a few years a go I used bleach water to clean dead coral skeletons for a fish only tank with out a problem. I use 1-2 cup of unscented beach to a bath tube full of cold water until they were bright white then rinsed them off and soaked them twice with declorinator at twice the dose. if you try this use cold water. hot water and bleach do not mix. I don't know if this helps but good luck
