I'm trying to make a display fuge too. Just went down to the keys to collect macros and some hermit crabs To add to my dragons breath and chaeto. The new macros will go into my display or my refugium.
Honestly, I’m liking my quarantine tank with macros better than my 60 cube.

Is this a package from reef cleaners?

This WAS MY REFUGE......(TIll I installed and Algae Scrubber into the Sump inside Sump Room).

2020-06-17_SumpRoomFuge.jpg

NOTHING SPECIAL Refuge Wise. Just the Left Over Sand Bead, Some Rocks, Rubble and a CASTLE.

What makes SUMP SECTION SPECIAL is the Inhabitants.

I got a perfect SunBurst Anthias Pair, after Loosing my Single in DT. He lasted a couple of years.

After QT the PAIR went into the Old Fuge to Acclimate since they are soft Eaters.
(One reason why the Last one Died. He Couldn't keep up with the other More Aggressive Fish during Feeding time)

-> I decided The SunBurst Anthias (Fat Heads) will stay there.
-> They are peaceful Fish. Just hover and don't need much space. (It's a 9 Gallon Refuge Section, but Tall)
-> They keep me company, since my tank is In Wall and sump in behind it.
-> The Pair is Not harrassed by any fish in DT.
-> They Eat Well and are very Happy.
-> Still Provide Nutrients to the DT.

Do you have other pictures of your fuge? How did you get your algae to attach?? Is that flame macro? Awesome looking!
Thank you! I don’t have a thread for this tank on R2R unfortunately. I post a lot on my Instagram account tho. The red is Gracilaria hayi.

Is this a package from reef cleaners?
I have heard great things about reef cleaners and the way John helps his customers. I would buy from him in a second, but have not yet. I like to get my stuff from LFS because I don’t trust UPS to get live stuff to me on time. They don’t even knock on my door when they leave a package... I can just imagine things roasting in a truck in Miami or on my front porch.

I bought dragons breath, chaeto and gracilaria from LFS.

I went down to the Marathon Key last weekend and was snorkeling in the grass Beds and collected all the other macros and hermit crabs that are in the tank. (And extra shells so they don’t kill my snails).

with a FL saltwater Fishing license you can collect some inverts, fish and macro algae. But you need to follow the rules they post. Some invert and fish are not allowed.
