Ive been using different caleurpas for years and never had any issue myself with it going asexual, was your auto top up near the macro algae by any chance?

Really Nice Macros!!

I don’t have ATO on that tank. It has a top and I just manually top off with RODI.
do you keep light on 24 hours?

I would say most are getting by, but not as nice as when I first put them into tank. There was the one that turned my tank green and died. One is looking better that is a fan of old growth and a much larger stem of new growth.

Beautiful everyone!

Mine is a Red Sea max c250. I’m using it as predator tank holding a jeweled moray and some damsels. I love the looks of macros so giving some a shot! Some are doing well and some melted away right away, not sure exactly what I’m doing haha, NO3 and PO4 are high. 50/0.5, not sure if that’s too high for macros? Any how pics below. I “modded” a finnex led light in the hood along with two 39 watt t5 bulbs, using giesemann 6500k tropic and super flora. The flora is a little red for my liking hence the red hue to tank, not too bad through, makes the red macro look great. Run t5s for 5 hours a day.

Wow! I got some serious growth after adding the T5s! Check out the tank now, almost three months.

I just added some red grape and tuffed jointed algae to my main tank and my CUC is eating it up. Maybe I should put it in the fuge instead :(

How is flow? And size? I’ll admit I tried to get by with 2 returns and 1 MP40 in a 75g 4ft long. I thought that would have been enough but idk.

It’s a Red Sea max c250, old school now, 55 gallon display, only using one return, and 2 600gph wave makers. There’s a good amount of water moving

I would have thought these guys would produce enough nitrates, but all of the Macro you see here disintegrated and became cyano and green hair algae over a 3 week period.

The rock had all spent years in the sump of my reef before being moved to my planted/predator... and the 75 display was plumbed into the 300 gallon reef system.

Hmmm
