Distance between lps corals

Hello fellow reefers,

Sorry for another newbie question but everyone is so helpful on this forum .
Is there a minimum distance I should leave between lps corals when placing them in my tank?.
I already have a candy cane and am picking up a Duncan tomorrow. Ideally I want to place them on the same piece of live rock, how much space should I leave between them? My candy cane has 4 heads and the Duncan has 2.

Some are much more aggressive than others so do your research. Some can be fairly close while others need much more room. I have a galaxea and a space invader that send out multiple sweepers several inches long

True statement.
Unfortunately my Pectinia has nuked many coral, and you won't find out till the next day when neighboring coral are white. Sweepers can reach out over 6". It is really a killer in disguise.

Also keep in mind growth rate as car as jow much room it needs. My Duncan started as 4 heads then sprouted 12 new ones at once and now too many to count

have seen small sweepers coming off my candy cane at feeding time.
