Have my first dive class coming up next week. Can’t wait! Snorkeled before but nothing serious. Also did some glass bottom boats and a submarine.

Hope you enjoy it. It is a great hobby. I'll let the instructors do their job but be safe and have fun. If you haven't already done so search on DAN and join. Worth it.

If you start to get into the hobby / sport and dive more it has some good services. Insurance comes to mind. Also if abroad traveling you can get information ahead of time, decompression chamber location, etc. Diving is an amazing hobby but just has dangerous has jumping out of an airplane so to speak. I keep this information in my document safe box at home and immediate family members know of its location when we go on vacation or if I'm on a dive trip with the guys (well, or my daughter since she is my dive partner).

Oh

Cool thanks

You are very welcome. If this is something you end up enjoying I would recommend the advance open water after a couple dives. Feel out the instructors and yourself. After that another good one is Nitrox. I took that course about a year later and wish I did sooner. I feel a lot better after a weekend of diving when using Nitrox compared to normal air. Also my throat seems less dry although I don't think it is connected. Then it is just a matter of practice, buoyancy, etc.

Yeah I’ve snorkeled in some cool places

Hawaii
thailand
Mexico
florida
egypt

Yeah I already asked how much it is to get all the way certified they said $450 with equipment rental. I’m sure I will more then likely do it unless there is something I don’t like about diving as I’ve never done it before. I love being in and around the ocean.

Dive class went good. I totally want to get certified. Can wait to dive some place cool. To bad the wife won’t do it.
