Divider?

Soon I will be taking the plunge and building a plywood tank it will be 8*2*2 my wife would like an aggressive tank for certain fish. My question is can I put in an acrylic divider to divide the tank with holes in it to keep it one whole system?

Or would it cause problems between the sides of the tank?

That should be fine.
I belive Tanked did that for some they built for the show.
