Hi Randy,

Your help here please if possible :).

My buddy makes his own DIY reagent for his Alkatronic with sulfuric acid. He told me I need to use 1.6 grams of pure SA and dilute in 1500 grams of distilled or RO water.

I figured out that 1500 grams of water = 1.5 L.

Is pure sulfuric acid also called 1M sulfuric acid?...Like this: Sulfuric Acid from Amazon I also found this: Sulfuric Acid

Is there a way to determine the volume of 1.6 grams of pure SA? I believe it is .88 ml.

My preference is to determine the proper volume of sulfuric acid in 1 gallon of water for the dilution of the above equation.

I’m not a chemist but pure Sulphuric acid is 98%

1M acid is, I think, 58g made up to 1litre. The strength will be vastly different but probably much easier to work with.

I estimate you will need 27g of 1M acid made up to 1500ml with RODI and that should land you at the same concentration as your friend uses.

You just need @Randy Holmes-Farley to confirm I haven’t sent you down the wrong path.
