After harvesting my ATS screen of algae and leaving some on the screen I find that some loose Ulva detaches and ends up in the sump and often on the intake of my return pump.

To prevent this I put 3 plastic tie wraps around my drain about 2" above my sump waterline and glued them in place with the 3 ends equally spaced out around the drain. I then used a media net bag with draw strings and secured it above the tie wraps.

After I have harvested I let the ATS run for a day before collecting the caught algae from the bag. No more algae escapes into the sump.
