Trying this out. Just built a ATS and want to see how it compares to my chaeto sump chamber. I have a 4 Led Grow fixture lamp and am utilizing a maxijet for flow. Initial set up is running smoothly. Open for suggestions or comments what to look for during first couple weeks . For mesh, am using plastic cross stitch sheet.

Thanks for posting the mesh! Did you just drill a bunch of holes in the pvc or?

I would add a acrylic splash guard on each side of the screen to keep salt spray off of your lights. How waterproof are the lights and what spectrum color are they. When I built mine I think it was 660 red and a couple of violet leds for the spectrum.

Also, I am assuming that you roughed up the screen to make the algae better to colonize.

I dremmeled the “spraybar” to make a straight line and then inserted the screen w zip ties. Plan on roughing up the screen tomorrow. The lights are waterproof and are full spectrum for all stage plant growth. Ive added plastic wrap which was suggeseted for initial growth and to prevent water splash.
