Triton MYTE ICP-OES test:
Just received my latest Triton ICP-OES test as part of the MYTE program. Nothing really unexpected. One thing I've noticed is that for any of the items I test at home, including Calcium, Magnesium, Salinity, Phosphate, etc., they match up quite well. This has been true for the first two tests; we'll see how it does going forward. The results so far give me confidence that the Triton ICP-OES tests are, for me anyway, fit for the purpose of dosing trace elements.

ICP-OES Calcium 434.00 mg/l - Hanna Calcium checker: 434
ICP-OES Magnesium 1415.00 mg/l - Hanna Magnesium Checker: 1430
This has been the case for both of the Triton ICP-OES tests. For those items I test at home, the results have been almost identical. I tested magnesium about a week before I sent off the Triton vials, which could explain the slight difference there. I haven't seen the salinity errors others have reported with the ICP-OES tests. I calibrate the Milwaukee before each salinity test.
These results give me enough confidence in the ICP-OES tests to cut back on my personal testing for all items except those I'm actively managing, like Phosphate and Nitrate. I also test Alkalinity about once a month, but I'm dosing Kalkwasser so I don't expect any large changes.
Lithium is creeping higher. From 371.00 ug/l on the first test to 505 ug/l on this latest test. I'm not too concerned yet. Since my RODI unit is good, TDS on the output is 000.1 or less, I'm not dosing anything that could cause a rise, and I don't do WCs in this tank, I'm guessing it is probably leaching from the Dry Rock or Cement (there is quite a bit in this tank). If it continues to rise on the next ICP-OES test, I'll do a WC to reduce the Lithium level.
Live Stock:
Everything is doing well. The fish are fat, happy, and very active. CUC is keeping the algae under control. I was pleased to find that at least two of my 3 Peppermint shrimp are alive and well. Since it took me so long to find the second, I'm hopeful the other survived as well.
I'm emailing MarineCollectors about my Starry Blenny. It's been over 6 weeks, and I haven't heard anything yet. Mid-July, with the monsoons starting, would be a good time (milder temps) for shipment.
I need some company for my two clownfish (Lulu and Bozo) and the Royal Gamma (Boris). Boris has a favorite cave, but is out and about frequently. He is an excellent, somewhat aggressive feeder, eating a variety of pellets and mysis shrimp.
