Hello
I wanna keep this container of berghia along with some rubble etc...

My need is that it gets little drops of water from my skimmer section and I'll drill a hole for airline tubing with a filter that'd drain into sump as water exits.

Planning on using one of these containers and secure them with magnets..

Please see pics... Grant me some ideas..
How to get this implemented with just a trickle of water going in and out ..
Thx

You might be able to use these - https://a.co/d/7rsV3ok

Then heat bend or get another elbow with flex hose to point it down. The only problem is making a seal on the round surface of the cup.
Thx just ordered that fitting for half inch . Also I'm planning on putting these in the outlet section to trap the eggs and things from Berghia breeding 😂.
I already have this filter at hand:
1/4” Universal Inline Fuel Filter...

This is to breed the berghias right ?
The concern is typically with pods in the breeding container so woth that setup pods will still make it there.
Also the real hassle would be to get aptaisas enough to feed the berghias and babies which tends to be a limitation with time in most cases

Are pods issue for eggs or nudibranch babies or both?!I can even "hang" container using wires from above...

Planning to check filter weekly to see if they're stuck. Plus flow will be slow they'll probably crawl out the outlet filter....

Planning to snip one aiptasia per day drop it into container from my 100g Sump!

Not sure as I have never bred them but that's what's mostly stated.

I am breeding them also but I keep them in their own tanks. 5 tanks total

As mentioned any pods / isopods that get in will feed on the eggs.

Hope you have a lot of aptasia!! I have a 45G frag tank dedicated to aptasia. but going to split that up to 2 x 20g frag tanks just incase i loose a colony. I have a main breedin tank- 4 large .5" berghia, whenever I see an egg coil I immediately suck it out and transfer it to the incubation tank. Basically sterile small tank system with just egg coils. When I drop in Aptasia to the incubation tank it is only trimmed heads or full aptasia that is stuck on the glass , never rock rubble or rock as it can transfer pods.

Then I have a 3 grow out tanks(2.5G) that I put a date on when I tranfer guys in and when I can expect them to be large enough to sell.

the little guys will clean up a lot of aptasia!!! good luck

Wow ppb!
How to siphon the berghia poop etc without accidentally removing babies is my question. I now remove bad water and store away into containers just to observe few days lol.

Also what's ideal temperature in those tanks you got? Any circulation

I ran them for a while at room temp.house sits at 75 year round. Only circulation is open airline ( no stone )

Now I use small heaters to keep them at 78

Spot clean with a pipette. I have thought about getting a second .5G incubation tank and just going back and forth where i transfer eggs. And clean them.

I actually like your idea of a holding tank to monitor

I need to ensure that plastic container doesn't stay too buoyant... Need to weigh it down... And suspended from above without touching any tank item... Need to add small rocks. Sure due to pods...I will soak it in vinegar or peroxide before adding it. Or maybe I'll add new frag tiles....

THX all..Here's my hanging refugium for Berghia breeding 😂....pods can't get in and I'll drop an aiptasia head every other day inside. I currently have about 30 adults.

My basement gets cold in winter and this should help with temperature and aeration.

But why separate eggs from adults if they're not cannibalistic?!

I seperate the eggs because at times I drop rocks from my DT in with my berghia for feeding.
This can transfer in pods that I don’t want to harm the eggs. I am actually thinking about doing a 5g beta tank that has a minimal filter setup suspended from the top of the tank, this will allow flow but should not allow berghia to crawl in.

Mainly thinking about this so I can transfer larger rocks to “clean” my main tank at home is 260g and even though I have lots of berghia I haven’t added any because it is a large source of the food currently

14 days to hatch I read, but some clusters do not hatch in my setup I've seen... Is it possible?.. some will never hatch to make nymph Berghia?

Now that I realize poop cleaning will be a challenge since this is hanging tank, I can't really scrub and siphon out using baster...

Do you have a build thread of your setup? I am looking to start this myself.

I am curious how much flow you have in your berghia tank, and grow out tanks. Are you just using an airline?

I am also curious how you are breeding the nems. Amount of flow, temp and how much and what you are feeding them?

Do you find temperature makes a difference for the berghia or the aiptasia?

Thank you.

My plan is a couple of 10g's to grow out the aiptaisa and two 1.5g tanks to grow out the berghia. I am not looking to breed on a large scale, just for home and local use.
