looking for a list for a DIY 125 gal 6 foot canopy. As the one I have sits now the lights are to low to the water. What materials needed and best to use?

Do you want to adapt your current canopy of build a new one? Have you considered hanging the lights from the ceiling or wall mount as an option? Or even suspending your existing canopy?

I may use parts of the existing but it’s to heavy to hang. It’s probably a 8-10” in height canopy only keeps the LEDs 5” off the water. Looking for lighter slimmer look.

Obviously I don't know how your current canopy is constructed, so you may be able to use parts of it. But in all honesty, it may be easier just to start from scratch.

Check out @Flippers4pups build thread found here. He built a nice canopy from what looks like 1x2's. It would keep the weight down and it's relatively easy to work with.
