Diy cheato reactor

Do the lights get hot? I heard some people say their reactor cracked and leaked after a few months.

I built a cheato reactor and the acrylic cracked along the led strip, it does run really hot. I tried spacing out the strip more, but we had the same problem. The cheato grow decently, but definitely more gha than anything so it’s really become a scrubber in my opinion.

I just ordered a clip on lamp with two heads of the red-blue grow leds. I’m going to set it up with the two heads facing each other on either side of the reactor for lighting and see what happens considering the strip leds distroyed my first reactor tube.

I was thinking of doing this for my nano… Anyone else do it with success? I have a tlf 150 I’m debating on trying it on… Maybe use less led light strip? Does it really effect the temp of ur tank?
