DIY cheato reactor

I have a vertex media reactor planning on using and purchased strip lights from amazon to wrap around the reactor. but I can't decide if I should get a return jet or just run the tubing in to my DT and let it be. I do not have space for a sump. looking for ideas.

Your not going top ne running heavy flow through it so no need for a jet
