DIY CO2 Scrubber with Hookah

So as I was sitting in the sofa thinking about how to solve my PH problems I have been considering using a CO2 scrubber, but really don’t like the idea of a media that I will have to replace 2-3 weeks.

I was dosing kalwasser but don’t like the unpredictability of the concentration in my ATO.

so I was thinking of this hair brained idea as I noticed my hookah on my bar...

what if I put a concentrated solution at the bottom of my hookah and fed the pipe into the protein skimmer?!

it seems semi logical to me.. the air would pull in from where I normally house tobacco and mix with the solution below.

Before I attempt this crazy idea I was wondering if people out there who were smarter than me could save me from doing something stupid.

So am I on to something or bad idea?

Not sure what kind of concentrated solution your talking about but in general using your hookah to raise PH sound like a really bad idea ;) I would advise you to not get caught up in chasing PH numbers, keeping other parameters in line and practicing good tank maintenance is more important.. Kalk can help with PH but IMO the best way to add Kalkawaser to your system is with a doser.
