I am planning to build a stand using the rocket engineer design for a 120G (48x24x24) tank. I love the flushed look like the Red Sea ones where the stand is the exact same size as the tank.

I could get the same result by making the stand slightly smaller than the tank to account for the skinning's thickness but I am not sure that's a good idea.

Would I be setting myself up for trouble?
Anybody successfully did that? Could you share your experience and pictures?

Thank you

Is the tank framed? Is it glass or acrylic? Regardless of the answers, I'd probably not suggest trying it but these questions will help others.

I have a rimless and I made the stand 3/4” smaller all the way around. It’s pretty perfect. Make sure you use a mat underneath to help manage the weight
