Just tough it was worth to share how I’ve recently been using kalk in my tank.
It’s a pretty simple design but it is effective for my needs.
As per drawing just a conventional reactor, inlet goes all the way down leaving only a small gap. This creates enough turbulence to mix the new solution as the already saturated solution in the reactor exits to the tank.
One important thing I had to do was to adjust my sump baffle so that the pump only trows 500ml of water at the time for my 60gallon tank. By doing this I don’t get the risk of the white solution to go in the sump.
It’s been on for two weeks now and am just about to refill my initial 4 scoops.
The advantages for the tank were so many that am going to carry on with this full time connected to the tank. Also maintenance is minimal as there isn’t any mechanical parts to it.
