Diy led to powerful?

Hello i was looking at getting the diy rapid led solderless kit for my biocube 29 and saw it is 48 watts and was wondering is that too powerful for such a small tank? And how good og growth and color do yo get with leds? Any pics on growth?:squigglemouth:

Never Judge a LED Fixture by Watts...

Some 5 watt LEDs driven at 2 watts cam be twice as bright as older generation 3 watt LEDs driven at 2 watts.

Colour would depend on the bins of the LEDs...Some Cree Cool Whites have a yellow or flat tint.

If you go with dimmable drivers I've found this intensity curve best for growth.

On My Tank the Peak is around 500 PAR on full only for a couple hours.

With Cree 5 Watt LEDs and no optics I would say 48 wats is on the weak side for Clams and SPS... Softies and LPS should be fine.
