Good evening reefers,

I've had my first really expensive carpet surfing cat treat :( and I don't want to have any more. The stock lid that came with my tank doesn't work with my HOB equipment, does anyone have any good DIY or store-bought solutions for a 38 gallon bowfront

Do you have access to a 3D printer? I printed my own custom top to fit my tank and go around the legs of my light.

That is actually a great idea! I don't know of anyone off the top of my head but now I'm going to have to ask around.

I made my own lid from 6mm acrylic and mosquito netting.

I cut out a round section for my return line, but the rest is @ 1.5" on the table saw.

Then used an 1/8" bit in the router with a scrap piece of acrylic as a guide to cut a channel to hold screen spline and the mosquito netting.

Then just press it in and trim it up.

Then set it on the tank.

Total cost ~10$ and a couple hours in the garage.

I have a 155 gallon bow front and finding pre-made lids was impossible. I eventually went to a local glass cutter and had him cut to my specifications. I literally took cardboard (old amazon box) and made a template, verified it fit, and had glass cut. In total I think it cost around $100. 3.5 years later and I’m still very happy with them. Doesn’t discolor and bend like polycarbonate, and severely reduced evaporation.
