DIY Oscillating wavemaker?

Has anyone made a DIY oscillating wavemaker?

I’m looking into trying to make one myself. Does anyone know what’s all needed? I will assume some type of servo, controller, and linkage is inside?

Please let me know your thoughts. I’m not ready to spend $600 for one.
