Um, I might be missing something, but that "Part 1,2 and 3" were blank squares, with no links on them.

On my end, anyways.

As to the tangent of this thread, I'm looking towards building my own skimmer, for a 300 g display that we're planning on building. Other than just "scale up", that is the info that I'm looking for.

Great thread, lets see where it goes. And/or, should there be different threads (pinned?) for skimmers of different 'sizes'? Small, med, large, gargantuan.... you get the idea. :D

Here's my cluster ef of a diy skimmer. It's ugly but works great. Been in service about 5 years and has literally pulled tons of skimmate. About 5 gallons every 10-14 days with the bottom half being thick sludge.

That is awesome! It looks like a mad science project.
