I did a diy overflow and wanting to test it out. whats the best way. I would have to remove the tank to put my sump under the tank at this time. can I just use a spare aquarium and fill the 125 up with plain water from the faucet just to test the overflow I made.

Why would you not be able to do that? It's basically the same way you'd leak test a tank...

Durso, right? Or is there a torso? Do you have a vent at the top so it doesn't go full siphon?
