Hi all. I recently put my alk up to 20 by mistake oooppppsssss. I done two 10 gallon water change on my 75g tank which brought it down to 15.5 . Today it still at 15, should I do more water changes or just leave it drop naturally.

I would definitely want to drop it to 12 max I run 10.5 and a lot of people like it around 8-9(ocean levels). I would do water changes with salt with 8.0 Alk over a period of time to try to get it down to ur desired range. Do 5% water changes every day and that should gradually bring it down over an extended period of time. Good chance u kill corals w that high of alkalinity

Thanks for the reply guys . Yea I probably just leave it come down slow on its own . All seems ok at the moment. When it was at 20 tho things started to turn white. Snail shells and rock work . I was scared

I would drop it slowly and depending on when you did the water changes don’t go too fast. I run my DKH around nine.
I did 10 gallons on Friday night and 10g yesterday morning . Might do another 5 today but my salt has a dkh of 12
