pH 8.0-8.2
ammonia 0
Nitrites usually 0-1
Nitrate 4
alk 8.5-9dkh
Calcium 450
Magnesium 1250

Hanna test kits + Red Sea

a bit ago I began to dose code A + B . 10ml per night for 3-4 nights . Went from 7.5 alk to 8.5. Calcium jumped from 380 to 450

My question is...

do I continue dosing to keep those levels stable or will they just over dose ? -( new to dosing )

I have Green Acro, hammer, torch, bubble, Duncan. All are doing great. Torch is new so it’s still getting adjusted . Bought it at a show so it wasn’t happy there either

Not sure what Code A+B is (unless you mean Red Sea Foundation A and B), but yes - I would dial back your dosing to probably 2ml daily, continue testing every few days and adjust up or down as needed.

No worries - not familiar with Brightwell, but I'd still adjust the levels down until you get an idea of how much alkalinity, calcium and magnesium your tank is consuming every day.

Perfect , thank you . I’ll begin doing that . I was dosing 10ml as it’s a 53g system

Just for reference, my 200-gallon mixed reef (which I'd say is moderately stocked) uses about 90ml of alkalinity, 6ml calcium and 4ml of magnesium daily.

Wow , how do I adjust for more alk usage than calcium ? When code a is a alk and calcium addition

They usually take that into account, so I'd just revise the levels down to say 2ml per day and keep testing every 2-3 days until you find the ideal amount.

I'd try 2ml and see where your test results go. It might be the ideal amount, but as your corals grow and you add more you'll probably need to adjust accordingly.
