50 gallon total volume.

ALK: 10.0
CAL: 450
MAG: 1350
NO3: 7
PO4: 0.01

Dosing 1000 mL of saturated limewater through a 1.1 mL BRS doser each hour of the day. 24/7

I have a 1/4 inch hose attached to my skimmer that runs outside.

My pH gets to 8.3 during a 9 hour photoperiod and sits at 8.1ish at night.

I've been considering adding a CO2 scrubber only because I've seen other people do it for the coral growth.

I was going to add it to the end of the hose that terminates outside and connect the CO2 scrubber to a jar of water or a bong type of device.

I'm not sure if I need it at this point.

Thanks

I have very similar pH values as you with my skimmer airline also going outside and my co2 scrubber is just sitting there with depleted media because any difference is not worth the cost of the media for me. With your pH values as good as they are it’s not worth the cost IMO.

Thank you both!

That ends my 3 day long CO2 scrubbing research haha.

Glad I dont have to spend money on CO2 scrubbing media!

If you prefer to go for it (cause you’re crazy and obsessed like someone I personally know - lol) do recirculating CO2 scrubber (extend the life by 4x). Media: get it from Amazon: JorVet 5g

But if you’re already at 8.3 peak, I wouldn’t. I did recir CO2 since I was only @ 8.1 peak. On a tank full of acros, it (appeared) to help.

Good luck!

Im digging the consistency though!

Yea I was looking into a recirculating scrubber, but Id have to run another line from the tank to outdoors. Was too lazy to run it lol.

I think I will end up going this route when I go SPS and add a calcium reactor as I'm sure my pH will drop despite dosing kalk as well.

Youre also in OC!

I'm over in Cerritos! border line OC lol.

You need a particulate scrubber for any outdoor air use in Southern California. Here in Oceanside we close all our windows and the CO2 drops :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

I run a GEO CaRx - so yes, pH is a little depressed. With a recirc CO2 scrubber, you don’t need to run outside air (not that it’s bad in SoCal year round).

Yes - I’m in Newport. Hello neighbor!!! :)
