My Apex is saying my temp is running from 76-78. I’m running 1x 300w heated in my Waterbox 130.4. Should I add a second heater and if so, do I need another 300w? For context, I live in Southern California so no snow and I keep my house 68-72 with central AC.

That's interesting 300w should be enough for that tank size. Where is your thermometer? What brand of the heater is it?

I run two 150w heaters stays in hte 77-78 range I have it set for on my finnex controller which is plugged into a port on my EB8... I might suggest a few options:
  • Move your thermometer closer to the heater or a place where there is less water movement. I keep mine in the return area.
  • For redundancy/ getting a secondary heater to stabilize the temp.
  • Get a second thermometer

It’s a BRS titanium heater. I have two thermometers, the one on the controller for the Apex and one on the BRS heater controller. Both are reading similar readings and are next to the heater within my sump

I believe I figured out the issue. I believe the controller has a temp range +/-2 degrees. I just adjusted that to 0.5 degrees to see if that fixes things.
