Hey all, i have a hydor slim skim that i purchased for my cube and that was all i used for filtration besides live rock. My new tank is a 115 gal and i have a fx6 canister that is doing a kick *** job. Do i still need my skimmer? It looks to me like it doesnt do anything because the water it pulls out is clear compared to what it pulled out before my canister addition. I was just wondering, thanks

R u doing a full reef or a fish only system?
Skimmers are great because they remove the top water film which has a lot of gunk on it,
If ur not running overflows tho it doesn't really do the same.

I would watch ur tank and see what the tank says. The fish corals and what not will tell u if u need more filtration or if ur ok...
