Hello fellow saltines,

I'm looking to buy a used AI Prime HD (not the 16). After reading the Alkatronic thread I thought I better look into the Prime lights. If I read AI's website correctly there is a reset on the light. Is this correct or does the current owner have to unlink it or should they unlink it regardless?

I have 2 used and paired them together but the account does not have to be unlinked however ask seller to remove the lights off their Ai page
There is a reset button yes but it’s not a factory reset- it’s for default on light

I'm selling my hydra 26s. Can I just delete the app. The lights are not connected anymore

I have a second hand ai prime 16. All I had to do was reset the light, using the dedicated reset button, and the light becomes "adoptable" by whomever is closeby to the light.

Disconnect account and reset and good to go

Overview
Any AI-Fi device purchased used will need to be factory reset and removed from the previous owner's account before being configured on your myAI account. Start by contacting the prior owner and ask them to delete any light(s) from their myAI account then perform a factory reset by following the steps below.

Steps:
Hold the reset button on your light until the LED indicator begins flashing red (Release once flashing red & allow up to 2 minutes for reset to complete)
Repeat step 1 for each light purchased used
Open your device's WiFi setting and connect to a single AI-Fi Light WiFi network.
Open the myAI app and select the '+" button then "Add AI-Fi Device"
Follow the steps on screen to configure that device
**If you encounter any errors stating "AI-Fi device being registered to a different account", please email the serial number from each light(s) to [email protected] and request they be removed.**<<<

That's a little misleading.

You can do the button reset and add an AI-Fi device to the app regardless of the "linked" status. You'll be able to control it from the app locally, set schedules, etc.

If you want to link it to the cloud so you can control it while away from your local wifi network, THEN you'll need to email the serial number to AI support so they can unlink it from the previous owner's account.
