Do you clean your back glass?

I always maintained to keep a lot of space between the rock and the back for cleaning and retrieving stuff. Now have to rethink Thanks for your time

My rocks don't touch the back wall at all but various corals have just migrated that way and attached themselves.

I painted a mural on my back glass in memory of one of my first seahorse stallions. Even though my tank is no longer a seahorse tank I still like the mural.

Light/filter is a bit different but I like the depth and clearer colors with a clean black background.

That’s a great example of how a black background can add depth and make the colors pop even more. It’s a beautiful tank regardless which background, but if I’m being honest, I prefer the dark background photo.

I have not been paying attention to my mushroom farm in my small tank. It is completely full they started growing in places they ignored for years. Anyway there are now 3 on the back glass

I like the look of it on the glass. My back glass has coraline and different corals that grew onto it. This is two years in.

I like to leave the back glass unscraped. I like to say its for the snails, crabs, fish whatever else may graze there, but really I am just to lazy to clean it. The clean black back glass does wonders for how corals look. But thats a lot more work lol.

Came here to say this. I clean it when I’m really ready for a workout. Sometimes I take a toothbrush to the corners and scrape the back glass clean. Sometimes I get lazy. Right now it’s pretty dirty.

After 4 years, I still can't grow coraline on my back glass, sort of maddening. It grows everywhere besides there tho. Even in a plumbed in 50g frag tank, it grows everywhere, back class in all. Display....NOPE!

Mine turns green, bubbly and hairy before it turns purple.

no, let it encrust with coraline and load the back up with zoas or leptos. Use magnetic rocks and put all sorts of corals on the back wall - more space for things then just a spare wall.
