I do! However, my growth and coloration went way up after I started dosing. Everything was doing ok until I started that.

I don't know how nice a tank I have but I "almost" never dose anything.

I suppose we'll need a definition "nice reef tank"

I keep a few nano tanks here at the office, that I would define as "nice reef tanks". two of them are all softy tanks housing some colorful leathers, mushroom, clove polyps with some zoas monitpora corals here an there. the third is turning into a mixed reef with some monti. Birdsnest coral and a few basic acros , along with some mushrooms , and clove poyps.

all three tanks are "nice", and I'm not dosing anything - heck I barely do water changes on them - LOL

They have all been up and running for a while - the oldest is about 5 years old while the youngest tank is about 2

in contrast, the big office tank is petty nice, but does require regular dosing of supplements form 2-part to trace.

My tank now is all soft corals and LPS. I really don't dose anything unless I need to post about something but almost never and the tank was started in 1971.

Recently I was removing some parts from the controller board and realized how “bare” and simple the system was when all the dosing pumps were taken away.

It was simple…. Return, Light, Powerhead and Skimmer… “Dosing” pumps were all together about 10. Now down to 5…. I will be adding 4head doser again. Things need to be added to the tank but without dosing, reefing becomes much easier for sure! (Hence automation) -.-
