Do you let nuisance algae grow in your sump?

My refugium is turning out to be pretty successful- my chaeto is growing great, my pod population seems stable, parameters are looking good. However, I do have a substantial amount of GHA growing in the refugium as well. It does not seem to be bothering anything, and the GHA has not appeared in the DT yet. I also put a few emerald crabs in the sump to help manage. Just wondering if I should remove the GHA or let it do its thing? I have to imagine it's sucking up the food available for algae in the main tank- although my PO4 is at .01... thoughts?

It’s been 21 mins since you posted… lol.

I try to remove the hair algae from my fuge when I’m trimming chaeto or if I’m doing any other sump maintenance.

Not uncommon for new fuge to have different algae competing for dominance. Just pull it out and drop a few trochus snails in there until the chaeto takes over.

lol I know i'm impatient. Larry David once had a bit with Jerry Seinfeld on what is the appropriate amount of time to hold a door for someone. Not sure what the appropriate bump time is hahaha
