I have been looking through various threads and have seen a couple of blogs where people say that you can QT your pipefish but it is rather difficult because of their food requirements. So I was curious what everyone else does and how you protect your other tank inhabitants from the possible parasites that a new addition could bring in.

I am specifically looking at the blue striped pipefish.

Thanks.

I do not. I have been keeping bluestripes for many years and they are a very nice fish that constantly spawns. But I don't quarantine anything so I may not be the best person to ask. I would assume if you quarantine all your fish, you may want to quarantine them. I feed mine with my brine shrimp feeder which you can use in a quarantine tank
Here they are over the feeder (mainly built for the mandarins and ruby reds)

Here is a video

I quarantined mine. I bought 2 striped and 2 dragon face. The 2 striped died within a week. One of the dragon face died a month later. The other is still in QT going through a worming regime before it goes in my tank. I'd like to try again, but I'm not having good success. I really wanted to put them in my sea horse tank, but my sea horses are not wild caught and I'm afraid of getting them sick... :(
